Somersault 2.0: Stick the Landing
Growth often feels like a somersault — a moment where we leap, invert, and find ourselves briefly disoriented. Learning new things requires us to step into not knowing. But equally important is what happens in between those somersaults — when life steadies, settles, and offers space to catch our breath.
I find myself in one of those spaces now — standing in a place of integration after a period of deep personal transformation. Like many of you, I’ve navigated seasons where the ground fell away entirely. For me, it was divorce that became a catalyst for one of life’s major somersaults — dropping me straight into the unknown and forcing me to rebuild from within.
And now, emerging on the other side, I’m reminded: these steady seasons are not permanent landing spots, but invitations to integrate what we’ve learned, deepen trust in ourselves, and prepare for whatever comes next.
Because the truth is: the next somersault always comes. Growth isn’t linear—it’s cyclical. And each time we move through it, we carry forward greater resilience, clarity, and a little more comfort with the unknown. And with each rotation, we find ourselves a little more comfortable with the disorientation, a little more anchored in who we’re becoming, a little more trusting of the process.
So wherever you find yourself at this moment in life — about to leap off, mid-rotation or steady on your feet — trust the process, you will inevitably come out this other side. You will emerge stronger, have fun while you are at it!
