Why Utilize a Virtual Producer?
When you are running a virtual meeting, it is difficult enough to worry about how a team will communicate and what will be discussed without getting into the technical aspects. Trying to navigate screen sharing, breakout rooms, and polls while keeping participants engaged can be a real challenge. This is where a producer comes in. A producer is there to support you, your participants, and the technology, so you can stay present and focused on the meeting.
A producer can help your meeting run smoothly in many ways.
- Navigating technical difficulties – A producer can assist people on getting logged into your platform and making sure everyone has audio and video set up correctly. This way, if one person is struggling the rest of the group can move on while the producer works with them.
- Introduction and assistance with virtual platform – It seems like every web meeting is hosted on a different platform today. Between Zoom, WebEx, Teams and other platforms, it is easy to get confused. Producers help orient users to the conferencing platform you are using, address muting/unmuting, and how to use other features on your platform.
- Technical facilitation – Depending on the session you are running producers can also screen share the presentation, organize and run breakout rooms, and create and push polls.
- Back up presenter – If the facilitator is having technical issues or gets dropped out of the meeting, having a producer can be a god send. A producer can step in and keep things flowing smoothly until the facilitator is ready and able to retake control.
Having a producer on our virtual meetings has saved us many times and has made our meetings at MECC run smoothly, despite the potential challenges that technology can bring. We highly recommend having a producer on your next meeting! Feel free to reach out to info@meclarkeconsulting.com if you have any questions on how to get started.
