Lead Like It Matters retreats create space for experienced leaders to slow down, think clearly, and engage the questions that rarely get enough room in the course of an ordinary workday.

Through strategic inquiry, reflective practice, candid dialogue, and intentional spaciousness, you will examine what is happening beneath the surface and reconnect with the clarity, courage, and inner knowing required to lead what comes next.

Step away from the work to see it differently.

Why Attend a Leadership Retreat?

Some questions cannot be answered on the fly. All of us need, crave even, the opportunity to step away and see more clearly. A retreat interrupts the pace, patterns, and pressures that can keep us operating on instinct, urgency, or familiar answers.

For one day, we intentionally step outside the meetings, inbox, expectations, and constant demands, just long enough to make sense of what we already know and notice what may be asking for our attention. Create the space for greater clarity, intention, and courage.

This is not stepping away from your leadership. It is stepping into it.

HOW THE RETREAT WORKS

A day designed for meaningful leadership emergence.

Retreats are built with structure to the day, and with space to follow what emerges in the group. We create the conditions for honest reflection, thoughtful conversation, and the kind of insight that can actually change how you lead.

REFLECTION WITH PURPOSE

We slow down enough to hear ourselves think. Guided inquiry helps surface what you already know, what you may be avoiding, and what is asking for closer attention.

CONVERSATION WITH DEPTH

You will be in the company of thoughtful leaders carrying questions of similar weight. The conversation is candid, generous, and real. There is no expectation to perform certainty or arrive with the right answer.

THE INNER AND OUTER WORK, TOGETHER

We do not separate what is happening within you from what is happening around you. Insight gets connected to the decisions, relationships, culture, and systems you are actually leading.

SPACE TO INTEGRATE

Ample time to write, think, wander, notice, and let things settle. Spaciousness is not an intermission from the work, it is integral to it.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

The retreat begins before you walk through the door. About a week beforehand, you will receive thoughtful pre-work designed to help you arrive already connected to yourself, the moment you are in, and the questions you want to explore.

Designed for the Work: The Encounter

The room shapes the conversation. The environment shapes what becomes possible

Lead Like It Matters retreats are held at The Encounter. Every detail is intentional. The warmth. The hospitality. The flexibility of the space. The room to move, reflect, write, gather, and begin again. The Encounter creates a meaningful separation from the pace and patterns of the everyday, giving leaders the conditions to see familiar questions with fresh eyes and stay with the conversations that matter. Because when people feel welcomed, thoughtfully held, and free from the usual distractions, something shifts. There is more room for curiosity. More honesty. More possibility.

The Encounter is not simply where the retreat happens. It is part of the experience.

A Retreat May Be Right for You When…

  • You are carrying a consequential question that needs more than another meeting, another opinion, or another quick decision.
  • Growth, complexity, or a new chapter is asking something different of your leadership.
  • You recognize a pattern you are ready to understand, interrupt, or choose differently.
  • You have been moving so quickly that urgency is beginning to outrun discernment.
  • You are standing at a threshold and want to be intentional about how you cross it.
  • You are holding responsibility for others and need a place where you do not have to perform certainty.
  • You want to reconnect with your own knowing before deciding what deserves your attention next.
  • You sense that the answer is not more effort. It is greater clarity.

WHAT YOU CARRY FORWARD

The retreat ends. The work keeps unfolding.

The value of a retreat is not simply what becomes clear in the room. It is what you are able to see, choose, and do differently when you return.

Greater perspective

Step far enough outside the immediate moment to see the larger patterns, possibilities, and questions that may be difficult to recognize from inside the day-to-day.

Clearer choices

Distinguish what is urgent from what is important, what is yours to carry from what is not, and what the moment is actually asking of you.

Deeper self-trust

Strengthen your ability to listen to what you know, remain grounded when the answer is not obvious, and make decisions without continually outsourcing your authority.

Courageous action

Return ready to have the conversation, make the choice, interrupt the pattern, or take the next step that greater clarity makes possible.

In Their Words

I found The Leadership Wisdom Circle to be a deeply transformational experience. It challenged me to do deep interior work to get to know myself, my motivations, and my biases so that I better understand myself as a leader. At the same time, I left every session with concrete, practical ideas that I could take back to my team.  My session had leaders from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, and we learned as much from each other as we did from the curriculum. The space that Meghan and Kate created for us to build community, and allow for deep introspection and vulnerability among strangers, virtually, was truly impressive. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Transformative and Highly Recommended!
I highly recommend the Leadership Wisdom Circle lead by Meghan Clarke and team. The format, consisting of five focused 90-minute sessions, provided the perfect balance of commitment and impact.
This program truly excels at creating a supportive, confidential space where women can genuinely connect, share insights, and learn how to unlock their individual leadership styles. The success of the experience was deeply rooted in powerful storytelling and content sharing; learning directly from the varied journeys of others was incredibly insightful and enriching.
It was a transformative and impactful journey that helped me not only define and grow my own leadership potential but also forge meaningful, valuable new connections. If you are looking for focused growth and genuine community, this experience is a must.
